International Women's Day

Project overview
Through this project we created a week-long celebration building up to International Women's Day, first by taking the examples of women who were tech pioneers, highlighting a value from each of their stories, then doing the same for our own colleagues.

Zoe Harrison - ideation, concept
It is important to remember the incredible achievements of women from the past, but it is time to do more. Our concept was simple: take the amazing examples of women who were tech pioneers, and highlight a value from each of their stories, then do the same for our own colleagues.

We chose to do this through a company-wide channel on Slack, where we posted a story every day of the week leading up to our International Women’s Day celebration. In addition, we displayed these images on screens around the office. To accompany these stories I designed a special purple emoji set for the selected values, which meant people could get involved right away.
All of this was just the preparation for the main event we held on the 6th of March. In the morning cards were placed on each desk in our London office that mirrored the style of the Slack posts we were sending out the previous days. We asked everyone to choose someone they would like to champion, whether that be a female teammate or an ally, and bring their card to the kitchen, where we created a wall of celebration from the shout-outs.

For the project, I used the Infini typeface by graphic and type designer Sandrine Nugue.
